Tucked away on the 4th floor of the Loop Hotel, the terrace is where Vilnius skyline meets a green garden. We were commissioned by the owner of the hotel to transform this plain looking rooftop, spread across 300m2, into a modern and welcoming retreat. The philosophy behind the design was to create an intimate space – a sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city life. The first idea that came to our minds was to create a secret garden in the city that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. Since the terrace itself has a long and rectangular shape, we had to create zones that would visually break this boring corridor. The bar and soft seating area, positioned under the roof positioned on the side and sheltered with a canopy, visually divides the place into two different zones. One darker, more intimate accented with fairy lights and greenery, other more open to the sky with less conventional seating arrangement and space in the middle for events, performances.
